In the past few years many different formats have been tested to find appropriate ways of presenting artistic research. The ZHdK has had a series of Exhibtions “Labor” in collaboration with the Kunstmuseum Thun, the Elia Conferences in Zürich have also tested little “in situ presentations”, most recently the Projects RhyCycling – Grenzraum im Fluss (HGK FHNW), Just Architecture (HSLU) in Schweizerische Architektur Museum, Basel Präparat Bergsturz (HKB) in Kunstmuseum Chur and the symposium “Performing the exhibition” in the Chateau Mercier (ECAV) Sierre, have referred to or been part of artistic research projects.

What are the problems, questions and main goals of presenting artistic research directly in a public framework? Has the museum & exhibition format been enriching for artistic research? Is there any substantial feedback from the visitors? We will attempt to make the workshop on the 3rd of December as hands-on as possible with examples from the presentations and involvement of the audience.
