Workshop for PhD-candidates (who aren't ready to give up) und other interested parties.
Swiss Universities of Applied Sciences and Arts don't currently provide an internal institutional framework for practice-based PhDs. The existing options depend on cooperating with foreign universities, which in most cases necessitates exhaustive clarifications preceding and complex constellations during the course of the PhD, as well as lasting uncertainties about the roles of the candidates at and their obligations to the Swiss institution. The current monitoring being undertaken by Swissuniversities on the situation in Switzerland to date focuses on institutional settings and the diversity of effective models. Our aim is to create a supplementary catalogue of the stumbling blocks and obstacles that PhD candidates really face, based on individual experiences. The list will provide a basis for elaborating a set of arguments to implement in political work on practice-based PhDs in Switzerland.
*Probleme Sammeln.
